A Wedding Short-Film: Emily and Alec

Being an editor carries even more meaning when you're able to create something special for your loved ones. I am so honored to have edited this for my dear friends, Emily and Alec, married in Chicago, back in May.

The wedding was a blast and these two beautiful people are so unique and fun, as you'll see.

Big ups to Chicago Cinematographer, Jay Patterson, who shot all of this footage.

So You Think SYD Can Dance

I had the pleasure of working with my neighbors for their daughter's bat-mitzvah. Sydney is an INCREDIBLE dancer and we had a great time working in the "So You Think You Can Dance" theme of her party for her entrance video.

Shout out Alec Cohen who shot her live-dance (6:50 - 13:33 mark) during her party at the Royal Oak Music Theatre.

Sam + Jeff

I had the pleasure of documenting the marriage of two great people, Sam and Jeff, back on October 24th. Everything was gorgeous; the venue, the details, the people! I had a lot of fun shooting and revisiting the day when I jumped into the edit.

A BIG thank you to my crew on this project for their art and collaboration. I'm talkin' about Matthew Mancour as a second camera-op, Dan Montingelli and Ryan Doyle, respectively, for their incredible aerial work.

I am taking a little break from side-video work so this was such a joy to go out on (for the time being, anyway). I hope you enjoy Sam and Jeff's big day:

Santa Fe, NM

I had the pleasure of traveling for work a few weeks back down to BEAUTIFUL Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was an early morning (sunrise) shoot so we wrapped early and had the day to explore the area:

The Maddins

Here are a few snaps from a fun photo shoot with our friends, The Maddins. Brody and Lainey are great fun (obviously taking after their parents) and it was so cool that they were all down to take some photos at our local skatepark, which I was very excited about.

Weber Shandwick

I am pleased to share that some of my first few projects here at Weber Shandwick are starting to see the light of day! It's been a whirlwind transition from the nonprofit sector to the agency world but I am so happy to be a part of this team and work across many sectors of business and culture.

My first video assignment was for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (Client: Pure Michigan). They ran a contest called "Make It In Michigan" as part of their Michigan Business Connect Program. There were various prizes for the winning company, including a promotional video (where Weber Shandwick came in). Happy Howie's All Natural Dog Treats won the contest and it was blast working with them and Premier Pet Supply on this. Also featured, are cameos by Winston, Chase, Mona and Neech (all dogs in my family). Enjoy:

Another aspect of the job that I love is the opportunity it's given me to continue taking photos. I had the pleasure of working with the Kellogg Foundation (also a client of Weber Shandwick) and was tasked with taking photos that would accompany profiles on some of their grantees in Detroit. Here is a screen shot of a few snaps I took and if you head to http://www.wkkf.org/ you can dive into those galleries and read up on some hard working, passionate and talented people doing great work, here:

California (There Is No End To Love)

I FINALLY got around to editing some photos from a trip Cara and I took to visit my sister-in-law, Andrea, in Los Angeles, back in early December. While we wish she was home in Detroit doin' her thang it's always such a great time visiting her and doin' LA, which is such a fun place to visit. We always make sure to get a hike in and cruise Malibu and this time was no different. We also got to visit Andrea's office...the epicenter of Helena Quinn, which was a real treat.

It's becoming an annual thing, meeting our Chicago crew on the west-side of Michigan somewhere to relax, cook, have some laughs, take photos and....RELAX. We had a BLAST in Saugatuck (this happened to be mine and Cara's first time there). These photos are extra special to me because I got to take them alongside my photography hero and good friend, Rebecca Peplinski. Speaking of which, she also shared some of her photos from the weekend, which are incredible. Here are a few snaps from Saugatuck:

Ben + Dani

I am way late in posting these but delighted to share some wedding snaps of my friends, Ben and Dani (and of course Brodie and little Julian)! They got married Thanksgiving weekend at Temple Israel in a really nice, intimate way with some close friends and family. It was an honor to be there to celebrate these two beautiful human beings....even if I was "on the clock." FYI - these may take a few seconds to load but please, enjoy:

[PHOTOS] The "Bushingellis"

A fall photo-shoot several weeks back with my friends, Kate, Dan, and the lovely JUDY! I'm honored to have two of these featured in their holiday cards this year! These were taken in Palmer Woods in beautiful Detroit City.

[VIDEO] Emily + Alex

October 22, 2014: I had the pleasure of sitting down and talking to the bride and groom separately to get their story and get a feel of where they came from and where they're going. They were very fun and open. I was really excited to incorporate this into their finished video. Everyone has an interesting story.

October 25, 2014: I am forever grateful to Emily and Alex for asking me to shoot their beautiful wedding. It was such a pleasure and hot damn, WHAT A WEDDING! These are two beautiful, FUN people and you'll see for yourselves. Please, enjoy.

*Shot at the Henry Hotel and Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI.

All Aboard the Love Train

I'm editing a wedding video I shot and thanks to the video clip thumbnail (which showed me the image below), I paid close attention to this sequence and was able to capture this split second flash thanks to the photographers. I LOVE the effect, here, and Emily and Alex look smokin'! This video will be up VERY soon :)

[VIDEO] Vision Statement: Episode 2

Episode 2 of our 'Office' style digital short, where our Marketing Director travels the building finding victims to answer the question..."What is our Vision Statement!?" Enjoy.

A fun, QUICK (lightly edited, onboard audio) segment where our Marketing Director surprises people at their desk with one question: "What is our Vision Statement?"
